Since 2017 OnCare has been on a mission to improve the care sector for everyone with technology - and that includes care agencies, care workers, those receiving care and their families.
During our first 4 years, we've been helping care businesses around the UK to deliver the best possible care using our care management software platform (www.weareoncare.com). The platform has tools to help care providers maintain their regulatory duties and their operations; for care workers to spend less time on admin and more time with their clients; and for families to stay close to their loved one's care through regular updates.
However, as we've worked more with families and care providers we realised that there was much more we could have been doing to support both groups, earlier in the care delivery process.
We found that:
- Families had very few ways to find the right type of care for a loved one, outside of confusing internet searches or asking friends or neighbours
- Care businesses were always looking for new clients but had no good ways to promote themselves or be discovered beyond local radio or newspaper ads which had mixed results
This is why we've now launched OnCare Local. We want to provide simple user-friendly tools for families to discover and compare all of their local care options; and for care providers to be more easily found and promote the amazing work they're doing. It's a win-win for everyone.
We've decided to focus on 'domiciliary care' (in-home care) only for now, to enable people to stay in their own homes and live independently for as long as possible, before they need to move to a more permanent care set-up such as live-in care or a care or nursing home, which is why (at least initially) you'll only find home-care providers listed on our site.
